In this week's Inspiring Dialogue we catch up with Steve McGinnis, IQ Rugby Talent ID Coach and Assistant Coach to the Irish Women's national team. Steve shares his thoughts on what is talent and what criteria he uses to identify and select talented players for the IQ programme. Size is important (body and craft - making good decisions on the pitch) but so is personal drive and a positive attitude (heart and mind - making good choices off the pitch). Steve also talks through his coaching philosophy (being adaptable and open-minded, coaching the person and being player-centred) and his non-negotiables (don't walk past your standards!). A fascinating dialogue with a top young coach.
